Cape town, view from table mountain

The trip to South Africa was mostly about hiking in a few of the mountain ranges in the western cape

A view of the city from table mountain

The weather in Cape town changes at the minute but when you're in luck you can have a beautiful view of the city and the mountains from above.

Lion's head, part of the table mountain area.

within the city lies the table mountain area and has lots of opportunities to hike. If you start walking from the town up you're easily fooled by the climb. It's easier to take a car to one of the beginnings of a trail.

The Kirstenbosch botanic gardens

On the foot of table mountain lies the national botanic gardens. It was founded by Cecil Rhodes and is a beautiful garden with everything found in southern Africa. On the edge it becomes fine bos of the real table mountain.

Cederberg wilderness area

From kromrivier in the south of the wilderness area we hiked to the Maltese cross in the heat to see this fist looking back at us.
